Which print would you choose? Left? Right? Perhaps you aren't sure.
I'm here to help educate my clients on the importance of ordering prints and products through your photographer. There is a reason we photographers offer high quality, professional grade products for you to display in your home.
Okay, I know. You just want to know which is which, from the prints shown here, so here we go. The left print was done at a one-hour consumer grade photo lab, while the right print was crafted at a professional grade photo lab.
There are a few glaring items on the left print which make it clear that this image was done at a consumer grade lab, including a strong glare, a green tint to the image, and lack of clarity. The print on the right is free of the green tint, it has no glare (quality photo paper was used), and it's sharp and clear. In addition, the photo crafted at the professional grade photo lab is made to last a lifetime and retain the color and quality.
In addition to the end product that you see here, there are a few steps that I take behind the scenes prior to sending the files for print (which doesn't happen if I were to simply send you a digital copy of each image and send you on your merry way to a consumer grade lab). Each image is unique and requires special preparation. There are many factors that will influence the final outcome of your print/product including the image itself, the size it's being printed, and the medium on which it's being printed. It's amazing what goes into crafting a stunning product for your home, isn't it?
